Photographer’s Note
Down Asmara is just what it is. The capital of Eritrea is located at 2400 m altitude. The meaning of Asmara is unification or the united. The legend says that three tribes came together and formed a single unity...Asmara. This picture is taken a Sunday afternoon along the way that leds to Massawa, maybe 7 km from the capital. I parked the car and walked down hill. The sun was shining and there was something in the air. At the corner you can see the old rail road build by the Italians during the colonial era. This railroad goes all the way down to the city port of Massawa. The train is operational only for happenings, you have to rent it.

Gracias Rolando.

Rolando,
I can see that you felt like something being in the air. The light conditions are very beautiful and you captured it with a great composition of this landscape. The rightportion of the image with the "italian" railroad is simply fantastic. I would be proud to have this shot in my galery, although in that case I would have used a polarizing filter and that clouds would have been even more popcorn like. That is probably the next thing that you NEED! A circular polarizing filter - the most important filter of all.

Hola Rolando,
I like this composition with the railway on the beautiful coloured hill, the long valley disappearing in the mist and the good clouds with impressing contrast. A fine captured landscape from a good high POV.

Hej Rolando,
I tought that I had given a comment on this photo. Its rough landscap and one can imagine the difficulties building this rail road. The rail in the afternoon light gives a nice break from the rest of the valley. The weather conditions seems to get worse.
You are lucky to experience all advetures in different countries.

Hi Rolando,
This is an interesting landscape with great depth and distance. The sublte colour variations are very pleasing and more like a painting in oils. Very enjoyable. Thanks.
Dougie.

Hola Rolando,
Me gustan mucho la luz y ese cielo tan denso. Y la línea de ferrocarril en la ladera de la montaña. Tiene que ser un viaje interesante.
Saludos,
Mirari.

Hi Rolando,
This is wondrous .. almost a fantasy landscape of infinite dimension .. beautiful angle of light across it .. reminds me of oil on canvas ... incredible point of view .. wonderfully executed.
take care,
John
