Photographer’s Note
This girl is using a mortar (an ordinary metal bowl, actually) and pestle to prepare some sort of green leaf vegetable prior to cooking. Greens from a variety of plants are a big part of the everyday diet in Gabon; they are typically cooked with meat or fish and served with hot pepper condiment. Every member of the family (but especially the women and girls) have chores to do around the house and garden. Preparing food is typical women's work.
I took this shot with a Olympus body and a 50 mm lens. I didn't even own a flash.

hi Douglas, I quite like this photo, interesting subject, interesting facial expression and posture...just 2 points maybe:1)you might consider enhancing the contrast of the colours using post-editing, to give your photo more colour richness;2)you should have shifted your camera more to the right, it's a pity her the other leg has been cropped off the frame...keep your photos coming!

Hi Douglas -
Great capture. Technically not the greates but sometimes you don't really have a choice, time or the opportunity to produce a perfect shot. I like this one because it shows woman at work, it is interesting and the woman has a natural expression on her face.
A real person has been shown here Vimbaj.
congratulations.
Krzysztof
