Photographer’s Note
This girl is holding a "baton de manioc" (stick of manioc), one of the staple foods of Gabon. It is made from the tubers of the cassava (manioc) plant. After the tubers are harvested, they are soaked in water, then boiled, mashed, wrapped in leaves, and then steamed. The girl is holding one still wrapped in its leaf wrapper, ready to be served with a spicy stew or sauce.

Hi Douglas,
This pictures has a greenish tint all over. Do you know what that is? Interesting note, beautifull girl, the kids cut off the scene rather abruptly.. all this is nice but I think the green spoils everything here.
regards,
K.

Great image, The girl is beautiful and smiling and I like the kids in back and on the edge of the photo. I agree the green tint is there. please work this out with the color and repost as this could be great.

I have to agree about the green tint on this.
The lady is beautiful and it would make a lovely portrait.
