When the fishermen return
The village rejoices
Children cartwheel across the lapping waters
And chase the scuttling crabs
Women laugh and smile
And bring forth their large tin bowls
To collect the seafarers' bounty
And in the evening
They stoke fires and sing and dance
Because their fathers will have stories
Because their husbands will be safe
Because their bellies will be full
And because the village will be whole again
When the fishermen return.

A fine and interesting scene, brought in fitting , bright clear colours, well showing the tremendous activity around the landed boats.

Hi Brian!

I just dicover your gallery and I like very much what I see! Among others, this one is my favorite! I love the vivid colors, well saturated and contrasted. I love the high POV. The composition is very well balanced, and the scene is attractive. And, last but not least, your note is very well written. A pleasure, and one of the rare picture on a continent that does not seem to attract many photographers.

I had noticed this photo in your gallery and I wanted to return there because I love it!
Composition, POV, framing, incredible variety of soft but striking colors also, palm tree well positioned, life this photo frees : all is perfect for me in this photo. Is's a fantastic life scene !! A really professional photo ! I am really sincere.

You wrote the poem in the note? Quite good!
This looks like a festival and surely it's a feast for every photographer. You chose to include the essential to describe the whole scene: three boats, one palm tree and a bit of the crowd. It's wonderful how the water shoreline creates a digonal. Appealing colours ad clarity. A masterful composition.
