[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
I child in Kenya spies on me by peering over a wall in the stair well of the local hotel guesthouse in Tsavo West.
He was playing to the camera, and I welcomed it by playing along and trying to capture the curious little peeper as he raised his head from behind his wall.

Hi David, very good capture of this boy peaking over the wall, you've captured the essence of a shy boy playing, with the capture of those eyes. Very good light seen on this shot with an perfectly posed composition.

Thanks, John

Hi Dave
Nice portrait, leaving the mind imagine his face, but his eyes are so deep and expressive, we don't even need to see him completely... that way it adds mistery. Good vertical framing channeling our eyes into his.
Well seen
Laurent

Hello David

Once again, really good skin tones with your portrait shot, you have made sure the child doesn't look too red. Perfect exposures, what a beautiful shot you captured here.
Well done

Jim

A really great capture of this little guy. He has amazing eyes, curious! It's cute how he's peeking over at you. The wall and background colors are very nice. TFS and have a great day!

This is a great shot. His eyes/expression is fantastic. I wonder what he was thinking.
The DOF is superb and you focused well on him. Very, very beautiful photo.

helo David
this is an excellent portrait!I like the way you have framed,at a moment where we only see the half of his face, that put the accent on the eyes!I like the small light we can see in these eyes, and I like his shy expression! The tones of the photo are really beautiful!Magnificent.
Have a nice day.
Pascale

As the first one, another little masterpiece, great work my friend, I really like it!!!

have a nice weekend,
Fabio.

David,
Another very intense look and very big dark brown eyes, staring from behind the wall, great capture with sharp detail and clarity on the boy, even under this not so perfect light condition. You got his shy and carious expressed down just right. Thanks
Way

A beautiful picture ot this curious child. Light, sharpness and colour - well done.
The only thing I would mention: Have you tried to cut the lower edge? The light shade down there is a little annoying to my eyes.

Greets,
Oliver

David, thankyou for your critique! I love this photo - it's well composed and crystal clear - congratulations! mark

Hi David, Nice capture. In just what we can see of his face we can imagine the game. Shame about that bright band at the bottom of the shot, which I find a bit distracting. I wonder about cropping it out, but suspect that doing so would have a worse compositional effect that the benefit. cheers, Steve

Helo David
who watch who here???
Excellent look sharing

Hello David. Stunning portrait pose again with the inquisitive eyes captured so well in brilliant sharpness. Thanks for sharing and best regrads. Jusni

Hi David. Sometimes you don’t need the whole picture to tell the story as in this one. I might have been tempted to crop the out of focus piece off the bottom as it adds nothing to the shot. Excellent critical focus and nice smooth BG. Nice work and thanks for sharing.
Cheers, Paul.

Hi Dave,
A true national geographic moment! IMO, the bottom white haze can be cropped out, but other than that, WOW! a very powerful shot.
Great work,
Shaeri

hello, david

a nice peeka-boo shot. his eyes are very engaging and the color palette is surprising matching all through the frame. however, i feel, much tighter crop (framing) around his head (possibly even losing part of the head) would work better here; maybe even horizontal frame.

warm regards

Hello David
Lovely portrait. Like how the kid's eye just glow as he looks from behind the wall. Sharpness is excellent...but may I suggest that you crop the lower part of the picture, where the OOF part seems to distract a bit. But taking nothing away from the lovely picture!

Angshu

Hi Dave, Excellent shot, selected focus & close cropping working very well. Sharp & good skin tones.
Thanks
Santo

Hi David,

Lovelly eyes! Great angle of capture and lovelly chocolate tones. A crop on the botton to take the uncessary blured part would make it a perfect shot.

Flavia

Beautiful portrait with excellent tones matching so well together.

At first I thought it was boy reading a book.
Beautiful photograph.

Hi again David,
Wow! You have some stunning photos in your gallery! Beautiful earthy tones and great composition. Those eyes...TFS.
Cheers, Michele.

David,
Really great shot - I think it's appeal, to me, is that although you describe the form the child peers over as "a wall" - it actually has the same form as an open book - whilst at the same time obviously being a metal structure, and a book.

This gives the shot a wide spread of resonances and interpritations. Actually, I'm quite surprised - given some many critiques - that no-one else seems to have picked up on this formal similarlity.

Regards
Colin
