[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
It is soon after sunrise and these 2 fishermen are proudly displaying their catch. The location is the waters of the hippo and crocodile infested Lake Baringo in the Rift Valley. Their boats are made with balsa tree stems which makes them very light weight - infact the boats won't sink even if they are fill of water. They may also stuff their fish with pieces of balsa wood which will keep them afloat while they are used as bait for the abundant birdlife in this area.

hi Marlene

You are lucky to visit Kenya, it is really a heaven for photography. Nice pov to show the unique boat made using local material, lightweight. Very interesting capture of daily life. I see adult here, no children doing this work.

tfs, bill

nice capture - the amount of critiques amazes me - how can someone look at this shot and not critique!!! great compositiion - nice and clear - well done. mark

Hi Marlene :

Ohh I envy you. My grandest dream is to visit Kenya (it's just too far from the Phils and a lot more expensive than going to the US). For me it's the most spectacular country in Africa.

I love the shot. It shows Kenyan's humble means of livelihood. I love the chocolate brown color of their skin. It creates beauty and passion to the entire composition of the photo. Good job! Take care.

Josh

Hello Marlene,
I agree with Josh and I also like the expression on the face of this proud man! Great capture! Lucky you, visiting Kenya!
Kind regards
Harriet

Hello Marlene,
This is a great compostion. The fishing boats pointing in different directions catch the eye. Greenery in the distance gives the feeling of space. Lovely refelctions too. Very nice!
Warm wishes,
Betty

Hello Marlene,
In the tropics you have to get up early to catch the colours before the sun spoils them. Here you managed to get not just the lovely colours but also an interesting composition with two boats pointing in different directions and a small one in the background. Along with the note this picture gives us important information on the way of life for these people.
Best regards,
Gert

Hola Marlene:

Your photo is very interesting with the sinners of Lake Baringo showing his apprehensions of the day. It is an image with good details of color and definition, the control of the light is excellent.
Perhaps the framing must not be so exact to the limits of the framing, in any case it is a good work and I like.

Congratulations and thanks for having chosen some of my photos between your favorites.

Un abrazo desde España y hasta pronto.

Hello Marlene,
very beautufil rich colours of the photo and very good composition make it very attractive! Concerning the composition, I think that distant tiny fisherman in a boat (on the left) is that integral component of the triangle which is made by the fishermen. And they all are looking in different directions...!
I also like the reflection of the man's red shirt in the water :)
Everything is very well balanced!
kindest regards,
Elena
