Photographer's Note

Into the clouds in the mountains of Lesotho. Lesotho is one of the smallest countries in Africa. With its 30355 sqkm it’s surrounded by South Africa, an enclave. Lesotho's economy is based on diamonds exported all over the world and water sold to South Africa, manufacturing, agriculture, livestock, and to some extent the earnings of laborers employed in South Africa. Lesotho also exports wool, mohair, clothing, and footwear.

The photo is taken just before the south-east boarder entering the Sani pass.

Hej Stefan,
A fine tricolor of brown, grey and blue, looking much better than it sounds. I happen to know that Lesotho has great problems of erosion and loss of fertile soil, and this picture shows it clearly. There is danger in this beautiful wilderness. You did well to observe this dark cloud bending exactly the same way as the hill.

Hej Stefan,
A very elegant composition consisting of three major lines of different colours. The long line created by the road up the hill is also a fine part of the composition. I understand the the altitude here is quite high and the the temperatures are somewhat lower than I usually think of in this huge continent.

Only a few ingredients - but a really worth-seeing photo!Th contrast in colours here is amazing and this "curve" of fog conforming to the slope simply is gorgeous. A not everyday photo - and a good one!

you really had a challenge when you captured this scene! But the result is very beautiful. The light is amazingly illuminating the hills and the colors are very attractive. My compliments!

Interstind and diferent landscape. The clouds wall gives some myst to the place. I like the light and soft colors.
