Photographer’s Note

This shot is my first TUAREG from Libyan Desert.
His face is looks very amazing. There is a big scare and hes caracter is very interesting.
I like this portraid , hope you like too.

The Tuareg Arabic:طوارق (sometimes spelled Touareg in French, or Twareg in English) are a Berber ethnic group or nation. Tuareg is a name that was applied to them by early explorers and historians (since Leo Africanus). They call themselves variously Kel Tamasheq, Kel Tamajaq "Speakers of Tamasheq" and Imouhar, Imuhagh, Imazaghan or Imashaghen "the Free people". The origin and meaning of the name Twareg has long been debated with various etymologies advanced, although it would appear that Twārəg is derived from the "broken plural" of Tārgi, an older Arabic name whose former meaning was "inhabitant of Targa" (the Tuareg name of the Libyan region commonly known as Fezzan. Targa in Berber means "(drainage) channel".

touareg- those amazing people i still have to see personally. the VW SUV i beleive got its name from these interesting tribal people- synonymous with strenght and physical power.
very good choice for BW tone. i love this portrait, surveyor...great one, both the original and WS versions.

Süpperrr!
Sanki üç boyutlu. Bu Tuaregleri objektife baktırmamak için ne yapıyorsunuz merak ediyorum.
"Yeke yeke" diye bir şarkı vardı. Adam onunla meşhur olan Mori Kante'ye benziyor. Belki de senelerdir kayıp olan ikizidir :))
Eline sağlık. Bence en iyi portren oldu bu :)

An great portrait. His look is impressive. The B&W and the crop were excellent ideas.
I had read that Tuareg caravans crossed all the Sahara, but I didn't know that some of them actually lived in Libya; I thought that they lived more to the West, in Southern Morocco, Southern Argelia, Mauritania and Mali.

I don't do portraits mainly because I don't have the skill, unlike you who has produced this very fine shot of a man who looks like he's done 10 rounds with Tyson! though the marks are more probably tribal scars. I like the perspective you've chosen and also the clear background which devotes all of our attention to the subject. It's a really fine capture, well done.
