Madagascar is perhaps most famous for Lemurs, Baobab trees and National parks. National parks are usually nice visits but I prefer to see the daily life for people at new spots. In Antsirabe I couldn't resist to have a closer look at this "aluminium factory". An interesting process to see how the guys melted old car engines, can and other aluminium products. It looks quite risky to see when they pouring the liquid aluminium(660C+) into the casting moulds in just slippers! Another risky moment in the process is in the workshop. Here we can see how they use this homemade lathe to finish the product, a pan in this case. I've been working in a workshop myself and know how dangerous a lathe can be, especially when you have your fingers inside a rotating object. Not to mention the noise and metal swarf, especially when you don't wear googles and ear protection.
Posted two more photos in the WS. I hope you can see them, it was my first attempt with WS:)

Lemurer är gulligare, men onekligen är sådana här bilder intressantare. Alla tre har sina poänger men den här har ju finaste färgerna och kanske bästa ljuset. Tillsammans berättar de om ett liv som alltför sällan syns på TE. Bra reportagebilder.
Nu ska jag skriva ett mejl.

I can appreciate this picture of people at work, a fine take indoor's the workshop. The two WS's attached explain well some of the work sequence.
Added this to my "People at work" theme.
Yet, show us some Baobab from this island...

Hello Boa, Workshops can be seen :), They are nice too. So you went to Madagascar, it is one of my (many) dreams. And mainly to see lemurs and baobabs. Interesting to see these men at work. Safety or lack of it is Asian or African countries is something unthinkable for Westerners. So easy to be injured.
Warm regrad s Malgo
