It is amazing experience feeling so much space around - no trace of any human beings (except of our group of three of course :) in 12km radius...

We've been hiking through Malagasy mountains for about four hours without seeing a person on our way. When we finally reached the highest mountaintop it was really an impression of reaching the edge of the world of men.

There - as far as a human eye can see - are only miles and miles of savage land with no trace of cultivated fields or bush settlements whatsoever. For a moment I was wondering if other people exist on this earth at all :)

...however, the cell phone network that generally doesn't work in the bush was working so great in this "middle of nowhere" - so we could make sure there are still other people on this planet too :)
