Zellij tilework at the Bou Inania Medersa. The Bou Inania Medersa was built by Sultan Abou Inan and the Merinids in the 14th century. In the Medersa, three decorative bands always appear in the same order: geometric tilework below, cursive script carved into tiles in the center, and stuccowork above.

The photograph is just as fascinating, timeless, and technically faultless as the the Islamic artists use of reflected geometry and repeated form.
