At rest on the Bou Regreg Photo

Photographer’s Note

Rabat, Morocco’s capital lies on the Atlantic Ocean at the mouth of the Bou Regreg river. Silting problems have diminished Rabat's role as a port but there is still a sizable small boat fishery.
This photo (scanned from a 1997 Fuji Velvia slide and a bit grainy) looks across the river to Salé on the northern bank. Part of the 2 million population metropolitan area, the white city of Salé is still "protected" by historic ramparts, below which are several marabouts and a beach popular with local residents.

Hello Mary,

Nice view to this white city. I like the balance of your composition in differents plans well delimited: the sea with the boats (an excellent FG), the beach, the city with the tower of the mosque very well located.

Une bien jolie composition emplie de soleil. Les barques de pêcheur semblent se balancer au rythme des vagues. L'ensemble se contemple avec beaucoup de plaisir.
