Photographer’s Note
First of all, please don't think that one of the women here is not happy about my photographying her : on the contrary, it is the one on the right who had invited me in this house which is not hers but her neighbour's and you'll see her a bit less severe with the kids posing on the roof with grandpa : she was keen to show me everyone in the compound, including the grandparents of most of the children here, so I entered into at least 3 different living rooms (this is another old mansion divided into several appartments, rented to not so rich families).
Difficult to remember the blood relationships in those extended families, there were so many people living around the same courtyard... But again, great hospitality and a very fun and enjoyable time for me, maybe because that city that does not get so many foreign visitors and they are therefore not "blasé" ?
(NB : I prefered not to enquire about the local meaning of the [bad] gesture of the boy in blue, - most probably, nothing to do with politics there ;-)

I'll be back to comment on those I missed, but as of now... This is the one...
It captured my heart...
It softened my soul...
Most wonderful 'in' scene.
Only queens are able to rule the subjects like you do, dear Cath.
Splendid show of family photography.

The mistery for me is how do you do that to make the people invite you to their houses and how they leave you tooks the pics, this talks so good about you, maybe they seen in you a nice soul and they trust in you.
Exelent as usual

Hi Cath,
Very interesting image of the family get together over a cuppa. I loved the warm colors. The expressions on the faces are marvellous and very very interesting. It reminds me of typical evening tea in our Indian families.TFS.

Dear cath,
you must have great charm to arrange such a family grouping to smile and be so comfotable before your camera.
It is all the little detail that I find so interesting. I like that there is the fancy silver teapot and also a child's bag that looks so ordinary and just the smae as the kids here in Scotland use for carrying their school stuff. I wouldn't worry about the boy in blue's gesture, male children don't seem to be able to stop themselves from such actions and it will have no real meaning(just regard it as displacement behaviour- he wasn't sure how to pose so he showed off).

Hi Cath,
It looks like a big and happy family. I wish the little kid hadn't moved though. Warm light looks very nice, actually brings out the warmth in this nice family portrait.
Well done,

Great family photo, lovely scene. Love to see people in their natural everyday surrounding. They are posing greatly - everybody's face is well visible happy, proud and inviting. I do know their smiles are for you, but I feel like returning it to them in spite they can't see me :))).
Greetings T.
