Photographer’s Note
The Saadian tombs in Marrakech date back from the time of the sultan Ahmad al-Mansur (1578-1603). The tombs were only recently discovered (in 1917) and were restored by the “Beaux-arts service”. The tombs have, because of the beauty of their decoration, been a major attraction for visitors of Marrakech.
The mausoleum comprises the corpses of about sixty members of the Saadi Dynasty that originated in the valley of the Draa River. Among the tombs are those of Ahmad al-Mansur and his family. The building is composed of three rooms. The most famous is the room with the twelve columns. This room contains the tomb of the son of the sultan's son Ahmad al-Mansur. The stele is in finely worked cedar wood and stucco work. The graves are made of Italian Carrara marble.
Outside the building is a garden and the graves of soldiers and servants.
This is also a place for long discussion knowned as "palabre".

Hello Michel! The colours and textures of Morocco are a pleasure to the eyes. I like your shot, centred on the two men chatting, but maybe they're too centred? One way to change that would be to crop out the palm tree on the right, which distracts but doesn't add. The wall looks magnificent. There seems to be a slightly magenta cast to the other colours, but maybe that's just the sunset light or the light reflected on the wall.
By the way, the Spanish word "palabra" (=word) comes from Arab :-)
Nice photo and an informative note! TFS and best regards,
Inés

Hi Michel
Great colors and what a bg. Very sharp. Maybe the men are a little bit to centered but the branches and the palm balance it out. Classic Morrocco. You really have captured the feel. Well done. Are you still in HK?

Hi Michel,
That wall is such a wonderful backdrop .. love the greens against it .. great note .. there is something about their skin tone against the wall .. I go back and forth with it .. still very nice image. Hope you and yours are well.

de tres belles couleurs pour nous faire partager ce moment d'echange...j'aime le cadrage et le POV qui donnent une impression d'immensité de l'ensemble, les personnages font tout petit...
bonne journée

Michel: I'll have to agree with abanibi here about the composition. Straight on using only right angles if possible and and tighter crop would have made it a complete success. It's still a pleasure to ramble through your gallery. regards, c

A bientôt,
Roger
