Marrakesh Old Town #2 Photo

Photographer’s Note

Taken in the Old Town again. When we were walking around we noticed how it started to thin out with people. It was much rarer to see a scene like this. Once again I was lost! Well now help is at hand as I now have a Garmin ETREX Sat Nav for walkers. All I do now is turn it on at the start and wherever I go it lays a trail on the screen so I can get back to the starting point. I used this on a walk in the Lakes recently. Works great. Till the batteries run out. Which they did! Doh ;D

Hello Mark,
A good capture of this architecture very typical of North Africa. I like the inclusion of the two contrastingly dressed characters (for want of a better term ;-)). There does seem to be a tilt on the left side of the image, and it's not just the palm tree! Didn't you have a charger with you?

Great note...some sophisticated stuff can also let you down when power goes down ;-)
I like your frame, looks a bit familiar ;-)
Light is very hard here, not the best time of the day i suppose. Like the man to the right, but also the girl against the door, which gives some extra colour to the scene. The top is a bit tight, leaving some more space there would give the building more room to stand by itself.
Nevertheless a nice shot...

Hi Mark - nice shot of a typical Moroccan palace, with those attractive shapes... also on the floor... The man is a good inclusion, at the right place... Maybe it's worth to correct the tilt... well done, Daniel

Nice shot Mark, I like the positioning of the two people. Have to agree with Stephen about the tilt on the left though (you once gave me some tips on the perspective crop tool in Photoshop to correct this same fault ;-)).
Funny notes but a good tip about satnav, I think I need something like that.

Good evening Mark,
the light did not fail to carry out this photograph. The framing of face gives a true idea of the geometry of the structure and typical openings. The inclusion of the palm tree and the characters is one more binvenu. Good work.

This mosque of Marrakech the mosque of Sidi Bel Abbès is one of the oldest places of prayer of this city.
I knew one period or there we could not have made photographs because this place was interdict with nonthe Moslems

Write this down a hundred times "I must carry extra batteries for my sat nav". I was thinking this would have been better as a vertical to get all of the man in plus leave room for the top of the building. Also the patterned tile area would act as a leading line towards the building. The light is well handled.
