Photographer’s Note

The old Medina in Fes is full of narrow twisting lanes crowded with people, donkeys and all kinds of wares. This woman selling mirrors caught my eye. She was busy setting up her stall (or should I say wall?)for the day.

A very good shot that could have been outstanding with a few additional features :
- an angle or framing that wouldn't push the lady that far against the righthand side frame (only a matter of perhaps 20/40 pixels move to the left)
- a strong point reflecting into one of the hanging mirrors.

This is the kind of situations you have to wait and shoot, wait and shoot, again and again, until you get THE one.

Hi Emily,

Great shot! The composition with her standing to the right of the frame- and how lucky did you get that you managed to capture her face in the reflection... I have to know, did you ask her to pose? It is perfect.

Great shot, the different shaped mirrors and dishes hanging in no particular pattern on the wall is a great subject, and catching the ladies reflection in one works very well. Well done.

What a great shot! Interesting mix of different mirrors. Great POV captures nicely the face in the mirror. Effective composition. Beautiful yellow wall. The self distracts me a little, but I can understand that there wasn´t much you could do for it...

This is an awesome photo. Good job not getting yourself in the photo with all those mirros! The yellow wall is great and the arrangement of the mirrors is very nice. Your composition is excellent and the fact you caught the woman's face in all of this is perfect. Really nice job. JP

A fabulous picture, Emily. Well composed and full of interest. I like the strong yellow colour of the wall and the bright headscarf. Well done for capturing the woman's reflection in the mirror she is holding - and well done for not seeing your own reflection in the mirrors on the wall!

A very nice photograph Emily. Well composed with the lady visable in the mirror and some glimps from the surrounding in the other mirrors. Would have been nice with something more eyecatching in one of the other mirrors but still a nice shot.
