Photographer’s Note

This is another photo taken at the tannery in Fez. These skins have been dyed yellow and laid in the sun to dry. A lot of Moroccan men wear bright yellow slippers made out of this leather. The day after I took this photo I accidentally stumbled into a courtyard where a lot of men were busy sewing up the shoes with this yellow leather so I got to see both sides of the shoe production. I wish I had taken a photo of a man wearing these yellow slippers. They're really blindingly bright!
