Talking with dogs

We just had our breakfast on the rooftop terrace of Hotel Cascade when suddenly this old man started talking aloud to his dog on another rooftop across the street. He was talking to it like you would imagine a grand-father talking to his child, somewhat like telling stories, not like commanding or scolding.
When he noticed that we were watching, he then started talking to us, but we could not understand a word, because it was arab, but he really was a friendly old man, even bowing to us. He somewhat stands for much of the things we experienced in Morocco... things we could not understand and on the other hand notice the inner peace and friendliness of the people. |

An interesting moment to capture, Bertolt. They do indeed look like they are communicating in the way you describe. I like the design of the roof and their placement in it. Being so small in comparison to their surroundings adds to the sense of privacy of their conversation.

Bertolt,
A really nice image, especially with the extra dimension added by your notes.
I love the monotonal quality of the colours... almost like a black and white image in colour. And both man and dog have the same stately stature, giving the impression that they could quite possibly have been having a conversation as equals.
Lastly, I like the way that their rooftop position is implied rather than being obvious. We can see the gate at the lower left, and the opening in the centre obsiously descends into something, a courtyard perhpas, but all of this is left to our imaginations.

Really nice image, telling a lot of words through picture.
I like the texture on the ground and the look of the old man.
His clothes are great and the moment of talking with the dog is chosen very nice.
