Meknes is one of the four old capitals of Morocco, and the least visited. We stopped there for lunch on our way to the old Roman ruins at Volubilis (Oualili), and spent some time wandering the medina. This man, wearing a jellabah, the traditional Moroccan full-length cloak with hood, walked into the scene just as I was thinking about taking the picture, so I included him - what else could I do?

Technical: A bit of cropping to straighten the lines, and a bit of curves work to lighten the shadows and bring out the color of the jellabah.

Hello Daniel,
This well-composed emanates a sense of mystery with the way the cloaked man is standing. The pastel colors, the presence of the windows in upper of the image are all nice touches. I'm a bit intrigued by the star. Regards,

i know how difficult it is to take pictures of people in Morocco. you were very lucky to catch this man with your camera. composition and colors are very nice, as well as the light. i also like that fact that there is a star in it- symbol of Morocco.

There is so much in this image to make it an interesing image - the star, cart, windows, piping and the man and his profile. The colours add to the mystery.
