[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
I think there is by far too much unjustified rumour about an inferior role of the woman in the islamic culture...This is my opinion, as a Westerner...

Witaj.
Klimaty takie lubie, to wiesz.

Łuk i światło. Bardzo udana kompozycja. Super klimat.
Podoba się.
Pozdrawiam serdecznie.

That is the perception we have in the western world. But we know about powerful women in Islamic countries. I like you picture but at the same time I think the black area could be a bit smaller. Well done.
Antonio

Hi jerzy
I am glad that you have brought up this topic .
I think figuring out the Islamic culture and the social role of the women in it is a difficult thing for me as a muslim and for a westerner it is extremly difficult if not impossible because when we talk about Islamic world we talk about more than 40 countries streching from far eastern corner of asia to western part of africa . these countries present a huge cultural difrences and the current religious and social practices in these countries are the result of more than a thousand years of their culture and islam mixing together .the media project the more extreme elements of these cultures and leaves out the moderate major portions and I think this is normal beause extreme cases make the news not the normal moderate people ,and I think that in many islamic societies women do have inferior role to men ,at one end of spectrum there are women reduced to a mere isolated existence completly limited to their own family with zero social life which is sad considering the wommans numerous abilities AS A HUMAN BEING and at the other end there are millions of muslim women that are activly participating in social life.but muslim women are fightig for their equal rights for years ,again with varying intensity and results in different part of world for years and it takes years more too.BEAUTIFUL PHOTO and thanks for sharing
Regards from Iran

Hi Jerzy,
nice tunnel effect on this one but I think it would have been better with an adequate exposure of the woman because it is the subject of your picture.

Witaj Jerzy.

Powerful and beautiful photo.
I think your photo is a masterpiece and you play very well with the light and the composition.
About the topic of the women inside the islamic culture, it is also interesting.
I think the problem is women inside a culture by and for men.

Regards.

... emerging - as all that bright warm light in the middle of darkness here?
... this kind of light is my favourite - very well seen!
i don't know much about the islamic culture - but i agree that we , as from other cultures need to open our minds and hearts for a better understanding
stay well,
dora

bonjour Jerzy, i think what woman is too dark? may be a little bit more light on her face? anyway good composition, i dont know a lot about woman islamic...
soon
francine

Your note is interesting - although the reality must be very different from country to country (remember that Morocco is very close to Europe) - and the photo would be a lot more interesting if you had wait a second in order to catch the woman in the lit area. That would completely mimic your words. I like the framing very much, the dark blacks and the golden browns. Very beautiful image.

Oh!
As you can guess, this is a photo that i would love to take, and which makes me jealous as well. Amount of black and amount of light are perfect for my taste.
As for your note, the role of women in paternalistic societies (like most of the world including the islamic world), women seem to have an inferior role, but this is indeed the contrary. People, especially Westerners can never guess what is being lived in those houses. Women definitely RULE. This is quite a deep issue, but it is true...
Cheers,
Deniz

hello Jerzy,
This picture looks exactly as if I have planned it. A black tunnel with an oriental opening and people comişng in in silhouettes. That's my boy. I really enjoy so much.

Just read the nes , I have been taking pictures out of town during the last 4 days.
I am glad Kev will join us. I'll also tell him.

Hugs - Izzet

Kobieta w islamie. Jak widac nic sie nie zmienilo. Fajny pomysl na naturalna rame, ladne swiatlo i wyeksponowane sylwetki.
Pozdr. Aleksander

I like your light management here Jerzy, most of all the way you caught the man silhouetted in front of the orange wall. There's a good balance between him and the woman and kids on the left as well.
There's a lot of black space, but it's not empty space. Well, it is empty, but it's emptiness that adds something to the image. Even so, I would have perhaps cropped some of the top, but not by much.
Good work Jerzy, I like it.

Cheers,
Ben
