They say that the full pleasure and sens of Koran could be found only when read in Arabic. Any translation into Turkish, Persian or practically any other language do not work.
I always admired how poetic and artistic the Arabic calligraphy itself is.

There is magic in these stones and the colour play is absolutely divine. I love this enw perspective to calligraphy, the pov and the very idea of presenting it the way you have

hello Jerzy, a strong and beautiful ocre color, arabis caligraphy is very nice, very good idee/ bravo to you
francine

I can read Arabic, and it is interesting that the word "Allah" is sort of broken by the stone's edge (the "h" is disrupted). A lack of planning? symbolic meaning? ANyway, the brown colors are warm and pleasing and the the text is emphaszied by the lack of focus on the left side.

Hi J.

An interesting compo with the arabic calligraphy. Excellent background.

Hi Jerzy, great one, with a brilliant POV and composition so close to the worked stone.
Colours are wonderful and the light is really well managed.
Maybe some Aabian TE memeber can translate us what there is on the wall!
thansk, ciao

Hi Jerzy,

Hello Jerzy,
Wonderfull capture; very nice compo. Nice warm colors. And I like the way how you have seen and composed it ; up to the edge. Which gives to this nice shot, great graphical effect.
TFS and best regards

Very nice use of DOF here, J, I really approve. The right sooo sarp, then everything falling away on the left. Samrt shooting, this.
bw,
Francis

Hi Jerzy, the shallow DoF together with the pleasant and warm ochre tones of the letters is the key to this shot. The contrast in sharpness between the left and right parts is so big, has it been blurred in PP?

Cheers
Alexander

Witaj Jerzy.

The note and the photo are quite simple, but also they are very good.
Nice idea and also a very enjoyable work.

Regards.

really beautiful - not much else to say :) - the 'closeness' is quite appropiate here and the well chosen angle and dof makes the inscriptions stand out even more in the brilliant light - professionally seen and crafted!
thanks, jerzy

I have been postponing my comment for the last few days, but i cannot resist anymore the urge to do so ;-) I must say your photo of those extraordinary signs is spectacular! the curves in the carving is very sensual as well as the golden light! it is also probably highlighted by the left part of the photo that comes as a contrast to the carvings!

I love it!
Eric

Again that deep orange - great use of colour Jerzy. I really like the contrast between the sharpness of the carved calligraphy, and the sudden drop off into blur.
The right side is a bit soft, and I'd have preferred it if that area was as sharp as the centre of the frame. I doubt it's a DOF issue - the distance from the camera is the same - probably just a fall-off in edge sharpness.
It doesn't matter that much - I'm splitting hairs (as usual!).
Good stuff.

Cheers,
Ben

Austere and elegant, your light and color use does justice to the art of writing...wonderful bokeh.

and again light and color : ))
It seems that it is what I like most in your photos of Marocco... I think it reminds me one of your "old" photo. Could be put in a theme... Arabic calligraphy is very beautiful
