Sossusvlei National Park in Namibia. The dunes are up to 300m in height. This was taken in the early part of the day which involved an early start at 0500 to get to the dune area in the park which was a 70km drive from our Hotel just outside the park. The benefit of an early start is that the dunes take on richer deeper colours first thing in the morning and late in the afternoon plus the shadows are longer and more intense.

Wow! Great composition - very beautiful. The colours are very intense -I almost can't take my eyes off it. What really makes this special for me is the sweeping curve of the dune in the centre. Superb!

I know well where this photo have been captured. The shape of the dune is very characteristic. I can't understand the color of the sand in left/bottom side.

Hi Colin,
This is surely a work of art! The texture, clarity and intense colours just overwhelm, and I had the same reaction as Alvin, (Cormac) The Right hand tree seems perfectly and strategically located in the shot for contrast and balance. Great capture!
