Shot at the premises of Olukonda National Monument, location of the first mission station of Finnish missionaries in Owamboland, found in 1871.

While I can't really describe this dance,or any other
kind for that matter, the joy and spontaneity was really great. The show was arranged for us, but tourism industry is not very extensive in northern Namibia, and the dancers, including small children, really enjoyed showing their best to us.

Nice capture, Kari. Although you have said this show was arranged for you, it doesn't look like it. It looks quite spontaneous and I think that's what makes this shot. It does lack some sharpness, but I note this is quite an old scan, so that would explain it. Cheers . . . David

Great sense of movement and joy, it looks truly natural - and as David says, it doesn't look as if the show was arranged.
