Photographer’s Note
The undiscovered tropical paradise that is Sierra Leone. Where lush green forests spill down the hillsides to meet the most beautiful and unspoiled beaches in West Africa, all washed by the blue waters of the Atlantic. Shaded beneath coconut palms and commanding spectacular views of the ocean.
There used to be a 5 star French hotel here, but it was pillaged during the civil war. However, even still the local people will provide wonderful service for a great seafood lunch and are a pleasure to talk to.
Sierra Leone is much more than perfect beaches. The forests are alive with hundreds of jewel-colored birds and butterflies dancing from flower to flower. In fact, the Country is a birdwatchers paradise.
