Photographer’s Note
In the Baptist School in Sierra Leone - the same as the previous image I had posted, the students were busily writing their views of life in Sierra Leone through pictures to students in Canada.
The only light source was streaming though windows on either side of the classroom, also allowing for the sticky heat to come seeping in.

Hi Brittany,
I have no clue why 34 people viewed this picture before me without any comment! I like it. Not just because I have been to Sierra Leone myself. I like it because these schools can be a bustling, sweaty mess and in such an environment it is hard for any kid to try and learn something. But they are dedicated and that is what your picture is showing.
Around this girl everyone is active, but she is thinking what to put on paper. Nice one!
Reading your profile I guess you made a good choice what to do after your last year ;-). Enjoy!
Greetings, Dennis

hello brittany,
I like the way the girl engages with the photographer. She gazes out to the wider world and catches our attention. he is a moment of stillness in an otherwise busy environment. Your frame is filled full of interest. You ahve captured beautiful skin tones and this is altogether a super shot.
well done
Bev

Nice portrait in which the glance of your model is very deep. It's a very emotive picture maybe for using natural light and for the shadows. The background, full of children, add a very kind athmosphere inside this busy classroom.
Very well done, you can be proud of it.

Jean-Claude

Hello Brittany.
This photo definately deserves more attention than it's receiving. An outstanding portrait; the children slightly out of focus in the background make for an excellent part of the story here. Without the note, we can see these children are in school. This information carried in the photo is so important for this type of document. THe lighting is beautiful and you did an excellent job controlling the shutter speed and aperture. Beautiful dark, deep eyes.
Be quite proud of this one.
Regards,
Chris.
