Photographer's Note

A detail of a herd of zebra in the Kruger Park.

To stimulate some genuine feedback - I went with a fairly wide aperture (partly the time of the day, but mainly through choice) and have a fairly shallow DoF with the muzzle of the foreground zebra fairly sharp and the background stripes starting to blur slightly. Recognising we all have our own opinions what do you think: does this work, or should I have increased the overall sharpness?

BTW - in terms of the title: This is my first post of 2017. 2016 was not the greatest year in many ways. The words of Nelson Mandela (the human being, not the 'saint') can be comforting and inspiring at times like this, and the title is a paraphrase from the first speech he made to the South African people after 27 years in prison. Hamba kahle, tata Madiba and thanks for everything.
