Photographer’s Note

When I stayed over Easter at ne of the displaced camps at Jebel Aulia everybody and his dog (literally) wanted me to take their photo. This boy was the elder brother of the little boy who is looking over the wall in a picture I posted months ago.

This lad was about 9 and had plenty of attitude. He was very specific about hw he wanted to be photographed - it's his pose and not mine.

I like this shot, Tom. The diagonol framing and muted colors work well. His attitude comes through loud and clear.

I noticed that you've been posting some recent shots from Europe. Have you left Sudan for good?
