Sunrse in the desert north of Khartoum. Taken haldheld with a very small appature to keep the light dim.
I think of it as a 'Stanley Kubrick' shot - Richard Strauss shuld be playing in the background.

I like this photo very much because of the inversion of color in the sky. It's darker on the horizon by the sun than it is above, and the bright top / dark base of the sun is mirrored in the bright top / dark base of the sky. Sun and sky work perfectly together.
I don't know what I think about the dark landscape. From a color point of view it seems to me it works well, but I also find myself trying to figure out what the big object in the right foreground is, and what the land would look like if there were more light to see it.
