Yes this is one beast of a camel - I think the impressive size gives it that x factor. The Sudanese men standing around also add to the shot.

Because of the skin tone color, I thought this is a sculpture piece, seldom see a camel of this color, mostly brown.
The stuff on the back - working tools?
Please dont tell me the camel color is faded because of 1974 :) I prefer this original chalk-white. tfs

Hi Marlene,
What great detail on the skin of the camel. What he's doing looks painful, but I'm guessing this is how camels "sit". The composition is effective, I like that it is taken from behind, it provides a sense of how long this animal is.
