Sousse has an old center, called "Medina", with a fortified mosque, build in the 9th century. The Medina is now on the UNESCO world heritage list, and is quite the opposite of what you see here on the photo. However, when you enter the Medina, this is what you see first. The mosque has a fantastic architecture, and the space inside is breathtaking. It hasn't been changed for centuries.
When we passed the mosque, I had little time to take the photo, it was more meant to be a snap shot. Only later I realized how good the composition was, and I wish I'd taken more time and used different settings.
This is also the reason why I did quit a lot of post processing.

slight increase of red & slight decrease of blue, crop, resize to 1600, resize to 1400, sharpening, resize to 1150, resize to 950, sharpening, resize to 700 pix, unsharp mask (bare minimum), added border and text. slight increase in contrast and brightness.

Hi David
interesting composition with this old man in front of the wall. The picture is beautifull.
All the best
Bertrand
Hi David
Nicely captured moment, natural colours. I would consider moving the frame to the right, leaving some of the space behind the sitting man out of frame and letting the half of the man (visible on the right)in, or just cropping the halfman ;-)
Best regards
Joanna
PS. Why did you resize so many times? I read that gradual resizing only does good when you're enlarging and only if you select particular settings of sampling in higher versions of PhotoShop. Every operation on jpg causes some loss of quality, why not avoid it? On the other hand, the quality of your image is really good so there must be some hidden magic behind it ;-)
David
Jolie composition avec cet homme admirant le "travail" de l'ouvrier assis!La médina de Sousse est vraiment belle.
Amicalement

The scene is quite interesting and really worth some post-processing.
I think it would make sense to crop out few pixels from the right (to remove the second person that doesn't fully fit in the photo). Also there is some small red object on the bottom left side. I would try to clone it out.
Not sure why you needed to do downsizing that many times. Is there a noticeable difference comparing to on step downsizing ?

You have a good presentation of these old walls in Sousse, David (I remember them so well!). The old man in the foreground is a good capture. he has a great attitude and adds a lot to the picture. The two workmen do their share too. regards Kevin

I loved the feel of leasure here...a nice contarst to the fast life we are accustomed to. The natural colors add to the feel.

Sagarneel.
