Photographer’s Note
1% of Tunisian population make Berbers. They are known for living in troglodytes - houses which consist of a courtyard, 5 to 10 meters deep from which a labyrinth of small rooms are cut into the soft rock and interconnected by narrow passageways. Access is through a sloping tunnel or by a ladder which could be removed in time of danger.
This type of home was made famous by serving as the setting for the film "Star Wars".
Matmata, named after the Berber tribe that inhabits the region is the largest of the troglodyte communities.
See in WS where they live and sleep...

Hello Snezana,
interesting photo and good informative note! I wonder what (or who) the woman is looking at...
The can standing behind the woman in the dark corner reminds of the modern times!
it seems to me the crop is too tight on the right..?
best wishes,
Elena

Hello Snezana,
An impressive shot, the contrast between Berber's lady in the traditional costume and a child in the modern clothes is very interesting. Very nice color and composition.
Have a nice day, Hisashi

Hi Snenaza,
They don't look really. I've been also in Matmata. It has become a tourist attraction but your picture looks real.
Cheers

Hi Snezana
A striking image of such living conditions not so far away from our world, image is not bad in terms of expression but framed bit too tightly, it must hurt her on the foot ;-)
Have a nice day JY
