Photographer’s Note
This Blue and White City is called Sidi Bou Said.
Its in the northern tip of Tunisia, just outside the capital of Tunis.
The city lays along the Gulf of Tunis, and into the Mediterranean Sea.
The town is named after Sidi Bou Said, a 13th century Sufi holy man, who settled there on the return journey from his pilgrimage to Mecca.
All of the Villas, cafes, restaurants...everything in Sidi Bou Said is painted Blue and White. Even the doors and window dressings, which i will upload a photo of at a later time.
This paticular scene, is of a Villa on the left, and the small blue door on the right is the entrance to a beautiful quaint restaurant.
This is a must see, if traveling to Tunisia.
Thank you for looking!

Craig,
This is a nice shot of these blue and white buildings. You have managed the light well showing the white buildings without glare. The trees frame the shot nicely with the ocean providing a good backdrop. The overview is nice and makes it look like a model city.

Hi Craig,
Impressive gallery you've got going here on TE.
Lovely shot, the composition is good although I'd like to have seen the bottom of the door in bottom centre of frame. I know a bit picky but everything in the frame is so interesting to look at.
Great colour rendition, the blue and white go so well with that beautiful sea and sky.
Nice work.

Hi craig
Tunisia looks like a wonderful holiday destination! The blue & white colours remind me of Greece, at the eastern end of the Mediterranean. Superb sharpness, saturation & framing. Tfs!

Hi Craig,
You have a thing for blue, and it transpire in many of your photographes that I see in your gallery, which has a great collection of beautiful images. I enjoyed them very much. This one is a fine example of you your wonderful work, great composition, well manage light, soft texture, not overly contrasted. The only thing I find a bit too intense, not particularly on this image, but some others are the blue sky is a little too intense, but that is my taste. Thanks

Salut Craig,
Emilius

Hi Craig
Nicely composed with the palm counterbalancing the trees on the left. The variety of blues are very nice here. Even the bike is blue.
Well seen.

Hi Craig, in thumbnail I thought this was Greece, but am delighted to see such a country so under-represented here on TE. Those blues and whites are superb. I like the composition and cropping to give the best effect to that amazing building (the door is beautiful). The horizon's nice and straight too (wish I could say the same for mine). I think a smaller aperture of say f/11 would have got you a sharper DOF, but overall it's a killer shot. TFS and warm regards from Sydney, Lisa.

The most beautiful view about this lovely tunisian village, nice light and colors with this blue ... a good memory for me, but when i was here, this view was not perfect because some people at work were in front of the door !

Hi Craig,
Tunisia has a lot in common with Greece, not only because of the houses colourful facades, also about history.
I like how you use the contrast to let the blue emerging from the white tones. The blue colour is relacing and the variations of it gives to the picture somekind of serenity.
Thanks a lot for sharing this.
Best regards,
Clemence

Hello Craig,
I like the composition of this picture, the diagonals made by the walls, and, of course, I like these nice colors. The white and blue buildings, the sea, and the green trees : it is like a painting.

Hi Craig,
In these times that days started to be short, gray and rainy, it's a pleasure to look at this summery and Mediterranean view. Tunisia in its best, at least for the eye! Wonderfully composed, very attractive colours well rendered. I have been twice to Tunisia, having used its airport in one occasion, but I don't know the town neither the neighbourhood region and one of the reasons for that is I keeping a strong pretext to return and know a place I didn't know before.

José

Fantastic- countless tones of blue and sparkling white... also the palm tree nicely holds in & fills the right side , so very nicely balanced composition.

Hi Craig,
The trees are framing well the villa. The point of view takes my eye toward the horizon which is giving depth to the composition. There is a good contrast between the colors of the walls and the colors of the doors and shutters. Have a nice day.
