Photographer’s Note
The Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the West of Uganda is the home of nearly half of the population of the mountain gorillas that are left in this world. The park houses approx. 320 mountain gorillas.
For the next day we had already arranged our permits to see one family of them - the Rushegura group, which has 15 members.
This shot I did the evening before, when the mountains were covered sometimes completely with fog. This is typical for this area of the world. This sighting was just amazing and I could not wait to see the gorillas in their natural habitat.
Remember the film "gorillas in the mist"? This sighting proved that the film has the proper name ;-)
I'll come back later with more information about the gorillas, when I present some pictures of these beautyful apes.
So long...

Hi Mirko,
Perfect shot of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. You exactly captured the mood of that forest. The mist makes it very mysterious. Well done, Thanks for sharing. Cheers, Michael

this perfect picture deserved far more attention than it actually got. I just saw it on the front page of TE and was immediately attracted by the strange atmospher of the rain forest. great misty landscape.
very well done
