The Souk
 |
|
| [Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe |
| On a hot summer day in Cairo, the souk doesn't become crowded until twilight. Here, the last rays before sunset bathe a street near Khan el Khalili in the "Islamic Cairo" district. This market area is a popular tourist stop, but tourists don't overwhelm the place--the majority in the streets appear to be locals. |

Hi Ken,
Very nice shot. I tried to get the same thing when I was there in July, however I did not have the luxury of twilight like you. It's great to see that you truly captured the busyness and feel of the market.
Cheers,
Jordan.
The light is beautiful and it's an interesting document for the architecture, showind also the things being sold and the various fashions for clothes etc, but I think that this kind of shots is rarely very "special" unless someone in the crowd behaves in a bizarre way or if there is something unusual happening - so in a way, less personal than your preceding peoples photos but a photo that has its place in this gallery nonetheless.
Best regards,
Cath.
Hi Ken,
Excellent capture of the daily life in Cairo. I like how you have composed the photo with the people in the foreground creating a nice sense of depth. The warm light and the colors are excellent.
