Photographer's Note
These guys are just waiting. What they are waiting for I don't know. Maybe for a customer to arrive at their shop, maybe for a delivery, maybe for anything that provides a change from the monotony. Whatever they were waiting for, I'm sure it wasn't for a minibus load of tourists.
Stefania - in your critique of my previous post you said you were waiting for some people. Well, maybe these people are waiting for you :-)
This place is Syadara - a tiny village but with a tea house. It made for a convenient breakfast stop after leaving Yakawlang at 6am.

hi Jonathan. Fantastic shot! the composition is great, well balanced... such genuine photo of daily life... not much to do... no place really to go... the man squatting like that reminds me of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. these guys come in handy when your taxi doesn't know where to go, and you can almost always find a guy squatting on the side of the road, even in the strangest places.

Jonathan
This reminds me of my Indian trip. In Northern India the people look very similar. The posture is familiar and relaxed.
good work

Hi Jonathan,
great shot of three waiting men. It's archaic. You feel that time is not a matter of a clock. You captured the mood.
Great job.
Kind regards,

Jonathan, c'est un tableau très bien composé comme savaient le faire les peintres de la Renaissance. L'équilibre est parfait. C'est vraiment l'attente à l'état pur qui est dépeinte.

Hi Jonathan,
I love this shot along with your funny note! It's nice for a change of your beautiful landscapes. The way these guys are standing make a wonderful and funny composition. Actually it remind me of some remote places I've visit before. The life there is allways so unstressed. Very, very nice!
Thanks fot sharing,
All the best,
Ricardo

Nice slice of life shot! I like the composition, with the 3 men arranged around the door, not lined up. The door is in the centre of the shot, and the black space with nothing visible inside adds a bit of mystery. Great colour combination too, with the blue of the door and the clothes contrasting nicely with the tan coloured wall. Great work!

Hi Jonathan, A fun daily life shot. I like the expressions you have captured in this picture. It looks that watching time pass by is their job :D. Nice contrast and good sharpness. The darkness inside the door provides some mystery together with those mystic faces.

Hi Jonathan.
Simple but good composition.
The three men against the camara. Their poses looks very natural and I like that.

Hi Jonathan. Although this photograph looks posed, it is also a good capture of daily life. Your composition is well balanced and I like the fact that the only colours in it are tones of brown and blue. I assume the steel rod to the right of the door must be used to secure it every day, because from the marks on the wall it looks like it stands in the same position every day - and has done for year. Cheers . . . David

when i'm passing your afghanistan's shots, i think that we are in Africa; the same people, the same situations, the same behaviors, only the colour of the skin is a difference:>
i envy you that beautiful trip to that beautiful, and gorgeus country; was that absolutely safe for you?
greetings!
