Photographer’s Note
from Wiki:
Noravank is a 13th century Armenian Apostolic Church monastery, located 122 km from Yerevan in a narrow gorge made by the Darichay river, nearby the city of Yeghegnadzor, Armenia. The gorge is known for its tall, sheer, brick-red cliffs, directly across from the monastery. The monastery is best known for its two-storey S. Astvatsatsin church, which grants access to the second floor by way of narrow stones jutting out from the face of building. The monastery is sometimes called Amaghu-Noravank, Amaghu being the name of a small recently destroyed village above the canyon, in order to distinguish it from Bgheno-Noravank, near Goris. In the 13th–14th centuries the monastery became a residence of Syunik's bishops and, consequently. a major religious and, later, cultural center of Armenia closely connected with many of the local seats of learning, especially with Gladzor's famed university and library.

Thank you for this rare and mysterious image from Armenia. Great texture! The church looks like it was born out of the rock.

Dear Grzegorz,
Excellent POV and colors of a holy site.
I liked the colors and details of the grand rocks at the background so much. Very nice composition with a very good explanation and framing
Thanks for all
best regards

Very nice shot of Noravank, showing the blend of rocks and architecture. The reds seem a little oversaturated to my eye.

Nice view, but more than just a little oversaturated. This place is indeed rather bucolic with nicely tinted rocks around. But never I saw this site - surely not halfway august - in these greens and reds. Nevertheless, if you ever visit Armenia, do visit this site - not too far from Yerevan - with good roads now.
I'd add a nice detail. How nice the place to live, those medieval bisschops in summertime moved to a "dacha" higher in the mountains...

powerful shot, as always when it's Noravank, colors are great, although obviously over-saturated
however, i think more sharpness would improve this image

Hello, Grzegorz!
What a well-composed photo. One of the churches in focus, and the other one : as if it's hiding from your camera. :) The colours of the rocks and bushes in the background make such a beautiful "carpet" and you've used it quite successfully as a background.
Thanks for sharing! :)
Regards,
Tsveti
