Photographer’s Note

Geghard is another incredible ancient Armenian monastery, partly carved out of a mountain. Though the monastery has been around since before the 4th century, the main cathedral was built in 1215. It is located in the Kotayk province, Northeast of Garni, higher up the gorge of the Azat river and the specific character of this monument reflects the peculiarities of majestic scenery around it. The picturesque gorge of Gegharda-dzor with its high and precipitous cliffs is extremely winding, and the monastery opens to view unexpectedly behind a turn of a steep path leading to it and are included together with the monastery in the World Heritage Site listing. Some of the churches within the monastery complex are entirely dug out of the cliff rocks, others are little more than caves, while others are elaborate structures, with both architecturally complex walled sections and rooms deep inside the cliff. it's nice that you included people in this shot. it gives this image sense of reality for the space, size, and also, photo is not 'static' as there are people on it, so it's always good to compose monumental objects with people wandering around. focus set clearly on the church compared with surrounding hills is done very good, greatly improves your shot.
tech. correct photo, composed well. good work, and thanks for sharing it!

Kevesen jártak már ott, ahol ezt fotóztad, sok embernek mutatsz újat vele. (Például nekem.) Szép, teltek a színek, remek az élesség, minden rajta van, ami kell - tehát már túl vagy a kezdők botlásain. Csak így tovább, teljen sok örömed a fotózásban, és szerezz örömet vele másoknak is!
