Photographer’s Note

Phuntsholing is border city with India - on the India side there is Jaigon. Between cities there is border gate. When you walk from India towards Bhutan you feel like being transported into another world. Just after 100metres after gate you don't have overcrowding, rubbish on the street, there is no holy cows and instead of cheating you everybody wants to help you. For us Bhutan seems to be magic country!! Unfortunately we don't have visa (200$ per head per day) and we ask clerk on the border to get into the country without visa for some short time - after discussion we get permission for 2hrs.

The photo comes from monastery which is above the city in the hill.

PS: Why visa is so expensive - the king of Bhutan simply doesn't want to have plenty of tourist in his country. That's why he came up with idea such a high price for entrance to Bhutan. But in those 200$ you have got everything - food, hotel, guide and so on (that is just day price for being in that magic place).
