| [Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe |
| This picture is taken in Kampong Thum Province. While I walked pass this village, I saw this primary school. There are three buildings, 2 with roof, and this one. After I took this picture, they told me that they do not have money to finish contructing the classroom for these students. It took them more than a year already to build the classroom as you can see behind the black board. The teacher told me sometime the class needs to me cacelled when there is raining. However, as I can see, these students are enthusiatic to learn. They smile and write down what teacher told them. |

Une belle photo de votre pays, qui met en valeur le tableau noir, et la prise de vue des élèves de dos est intéressante.

Well, this is quite an underlooked picture or more exactly an undercommented image... a pity because I like that natural daily life feel.
Very nice point of view too, we feel totally immersed into this "virtual" classroom if we can say so...that shows the poorness of the infrastructure but also the willingness for getting out of this situation...
Perhaps with this one, we learn more about Cambodia than the endless Angkor images we see. (As I have posted Angkor images, I'm quite comfortable with the latter assumption).
There might not be many Cambodian origin members in this site, also I find it's usually most interesting to get a insider view from a country. Your posting is much appreciated.

It is sad story, unfortunately not an unique. I hope in your country you have some good special funds, who can try to get money and solve these problems. In our country we have really good people and organisations, who are trying to help -- I am sure you know we have our problems too, and a lot of them :(
Very interesting story behind the photo. Good composition and POV too.
