Photographer’s Note
After witnessing my second sunrise over Angkor Wat...
Yes, I was indeed surviving again being with 200 people like myself... picture this:
-Hey Honey!!! Honey? (yelling at his wife which is a couple of feet away because they got here late) That guy is selling coffee over here. Do you want one?
-Jim ask him how much it costs! (again yelling because apparently this cannot possibly annoy anyone during this romantic moment)
-Honey!? It's 30 baht.
-What's 30 baht?
-30 baht is a dollar Honey.
-Jim! Jim! Ask him if he's got real cream?
;-)
Back to my story!
After my first day of experiencing this, I needed to see it again! I got there first! Yep! 5h30 AM I was sitting, with my coffee (!) waiting. Then 200 other tourist came to join me.
Believe me people, you didn't have to do this, I wasn't THAT lonely! ;-)
After that I went inside to take a couple of shot with the morning light (and with nobody because for some odd reason, many tourists go back to Siem Reap for breakfast after the sunrise...).
Then I came back and this is where I saw that the sun had just gone over the temple! (wow what a long story to finally get the picture!)
And the pond was just for myself alone to enjoy! Sometimes you get a bit lucky!
MeAT :)

Salut Mathieu,
Grrr!
Ciao!
André

Hi Mathieu,
Nice note. Quite humourous.
This shot is quite different to the ones we usually see and the first one you posted. Refreshing composition and POV. Good colours.
The rocks are adding to the depth of the shot.
Great work!
Cheers,
Guru

Hi Mathieu, I think sometimes putting up with and shooting around the tourists (which lets face it, we are a couple of them) is part of the game. To be successful as you were with this shot is to accomplish something. And it is a great shot. You've got all the elements going for you on this one, awesome sky, great silhouette, pond, colour, etc.
Thanks, John
