Photographer’s Note
Angkor Wat. I am not a big B&W picture taker but I like the tones of this. I don't think any photo can really do Angkor Wat justice but I tried my best. The palm tree in the front is a little distracting but not enough to "ruin" the photo. I am trying to learn to "compose" instead of just snap.

Nice panoramic view. The tree in the middle not distract your attention, cause it use the same tone than the building. Great reflect on the water that is a plus for this picture.

hi john
angkor is one of those places where it's hard to take a bad photo. the tree in the front isn't distracting cos like jean claude said, it's the same colour, plus the shot's emphasis is on the outline of the buildings and surrounding skinny trees. nice to see a fellow d40 user getting some decent shots. better than i can anyway! well done

Hey John,
You did a good B&W format here. The sky must have been so washed out and you managed to balance your horizontal composition very well, focusing on the foreground's beautiful reflection of Angkor Wat. The palm trees adds charm to this ancient and magical place. I like the over-all quality of this panoramic shot of this temple...well done!

Good shot! I also like the panoramic format that you chose. Black and white works great, I might try this with a future posting!
Ciao!

I like this picture a lot, I wish I could blow it up and put it over my couch in my living room! Keep posting pictures, I know you are holding back on some good ones!

Hi John,
This is a atypical photo of Angkor Wat. I think that the only time I saw B&W pictures of this temple was in old books. It is a very good one. The B&W gives it an old look and the most nicest thins is that the nasty tourist are not seen. The contrast between sky and structure is really good.
In other words very nice jobb

Hi John,
We have similar photos!. Your POV is a bit more straight than mine. Of course, the sharpness of this one is really good.
Good pano format!
cheers
