This shot fits into a series of themed photographs depicting rice growing culture in different parts of Asia.

As the saying has it, "The Vietnamese people grow the rice, the Cambodian people 'watch' the rice grow, and the Lao people 'listen' to the rice grow!!"

This shot was taken from the side of the road heading from Kompong Cham towards Siem Reap. Unlike many other rice growing areas through out the world, Cambodia's rice fields are as flat as a tack!

Hi James.
That's a pleasure to discover your gallery. The first thing that I have noticed in your pictures is the very good balance in the composition. That's clearly true here where you managed to make a very dynamic foreground while having the flat bucolic countryside in the background. It's just a little pity you have crop out he very right side of the wooden apparatus. The colors are really beautiful and the light very natural.
