Sharing a few thoughts on dolls.

Taken during an impromptu visit to a children's shelter in Battambang.

Sorry I haven't been on TE much lately and haven't had the time to upload or critique. We're in the process of adopting a child of our own. It's very involved, takes every waking moment, but worth it. It got me thinking about these pictures and of the place they're from... a big part of the reason why we decided to do what we're doing.

Hey, Cliff - that's great. I wish you all the luck there is. It's a very sweet photo, all the more for what it means to you.

I find the toning very saturated. If it were mine, I'd like it at about -60 (saturation, PS) from here - still warm, but nearer b/w.

First of all I want to say 'congratulations'!! I have 5 children, 3 of which are adopted. So, I know the excitement you are feeling and I would love to hear EVERY DETAIL! :) The little girl in this picture looks so happy , yet so shy at the same time. I, too, am a doll lover! TFS later :)

Hi Cliff. Well it's good to see back with a new one. I like the results of your b/w but a bit more contrast might help. I love the moment and the kindness being shown here. Nice shot Cliff.

I've always enjoyed your Cambodian work, Cliff an this is no exception. I am for some werid reason obsessed with battambang - I realy want to go there (maybe the quiet riverine French colonial feel of the place...) Here te expressions and general compo are great - one slight regret: that the dolls themselves are not more distinguishable...
