Khmer Ride
| [Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe |
| I don't know what this should be call in English, but I can explain why I love this photo so much. In Khmer it calls "Ro Mork" meaning that a bike leading a track behind it and can carry a lot of stuffs and people on it. Mostly medium and lower class people would use this kind of transportation for short distance traveling. It is cheap and not really safe though. The rider(driver) must be very strong and have enough experience to control the bike otherwise they might crash or collapse. I used to ride this bike when I was little and around 1995 this kind of ride is the most popular one in Cambodia after the civil war society. Now a day there some left after the new generation of vehicle had invaded Cambodia society. Feel free to ask me more question if you are interested in this kind of talking :) I am free to share my experience about Cambodia to everyone who would love to hear. |
