The Terracotta Warriors of Xi'an were built for the mausoleum of the first emperor of unified China. Obsessed with power and immortality, he died believing that he would rule the underworld. Buried in his tomb were all the craftsmen who worked on these sculptures and all the women in his harem, still breathing while buried.

Excavation of these artifacts since the 1970s reveals the advancement of ancient Chinese art form and technology, but also uncovers the horrors of living under the rule of a megalomaniac.
