Fourth in a series of five on the Dongba pictography of the Naxi minority in China. For background see the first three uploads in the series.
A Chinese friend kindly translated the small Mandarin characters and I am listing it verbally below:
Top Left: Sex
Top Middle: Head to head fighting
Top Right: Fight
Bottom Left: Play flute
Botton 2nd Left: Kill
Bottom 2nd Right: Speak
Bottom Right: Climb over.

Hello Neels - I love the 'translations' you have added in your notes and I can see by studying the pictures that the language is not so difficult to understand. Perhaps you could ask your friend if there is any significance to the colour blue? Maybe it just appealed to the scribe. In any event a really fascinating series and a look into a completely different form of communication. Super! Warm regards Rosemary

Tous ces pictogrammes sont très explicites et leur découverte est très intéressante. Existe-t-il des parchemins où des phrases entières seraient écrites avec eux?

Ik kan wel naar de beelden kijken van dit Chinees geschrift, maar begrijpen doe ik niet.
Gelukkig dat u een kleine beschrijving geeft zo weet ik ook wat het allemaal betekend
De foto is duidelijk, helder en zeker goed leesbaar.
