[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
Rice terraces at Longsheng, I must post cliches for the next few days as I cannot compile comprehensive notes, I just arrived after a trip. Rice terrraces are a familiar sight on TE but always interesting, I chose this one as its a bit more vertical perspective.

Coooool texture. The inset blues and greys, bright greens. Just a very all round interesting shot.

These rice fields are a true art work in itself ... wonderful picture.

Very impressive. Good color! Thanks for sharing

this view is breathtaking, because you can actually see the height of these terrasses. nice curves of green and light just upon them makes them look like broken pieces of a mirror.
Nice pov and composition.

Vey nice view here, the ondulations of the rice terrasses give a splendid graphism to this photo where I see as well a great clarity, waiting fro the new ones...

This is an awesome sight. It is true that rice terraces are seen often on TE, but this is superb. There is a graphic quality to this shot, the patterns are interesting, the variations of green are wonderful.

Amazing puzzle of the Rice terraces, Tan, and what a wonderful view from above. Beautiful colors. Maybe a slight crop of the upper part could increase the power of this composition. Very good one.

What a marvellous landscape, the brightness of the many shades of green are spectacular. How many generations are responsible for this tableau? Wonderfully composed, just an incredible scene. Well done!

Hi Tan.
What a nice graphic work you've done with this amazing subject. I think I should use this picture to explain to students what is a topographic elevation curve ! Superb colors and contrast and great sense of composition. Thanks for sharing !

A jewelled landscape. The soft curved patterns of the terraces are particularly nice and the vibrant greens. Nice Tan.

You made me feel like I am watching the scene from a hovering helicoper.
The curved lines are so great.
Thanks for bringing up some hidden "face" of our earth.

very nice capture from a great perspective, i like the colours too... amazing view, you managed to take a really good photo :)

what a view! the perspective is perfect. Such an amazing picture.

Hi Tan - today I was looking at your China pics, and found this real gem with the fantastic vertical POV, almost making me dizzy! I was trying to imagine a tighter crop, dropping the upper part, but probably the pic becomes less vertiginous. The lower left corner is spectacular, without the context I couldn't tell whether it's upwards or downwards. Cheers and thanks again for sharing. Daniel.

Hi Tan. Although there are lots of photos of rice terraces on TE, this one is interesting because it combines two perspectives in one composition - the more usual perspective in the top half of the frame and then your unusual, almost vertical perspective in the bottom with its interesting reflections. The sharpness is pretty good for a scan too. Cheers . . . David
