Photographer's Note
January, 2006, Central, Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong SAR
A tram bound for Kennedy Town rushes through downtown Hong Kong. The island has successfully managed to blend these old relics of the British Imperial legacy with the strive for modernity-- the neon lights glowing skyscrapers not contrasting oddly against these quaint double-decker trams. Riding near the front window on one of these is the way to experience Hong Kong by night-- provided you avoid peak hour (if that is even humanly possible).
Admittedly this one is a bit psychadelic in its presentation; I was experimenting with slow-sync flash on my film camera by leaning out the side of my tram and snapping oncoming ones with a burst of TTL flash.

Fantastic work Mike! This is tripped out transport. Great use of flash and a slow shutter. I especially like the contrast between the smooth straight lines of the bottom to the wavy, airy, rushing lines above.
Cheers!

Love this one! Strong lines anchor the motion sewirls and create an essentiallly urban mood of phrenetic acitivity and claustrophobia.
