A foggy Victoria Harbour in January, seen from the back of a ferry heading out to the islands west of Hong Kong island.

Taking a break from my Canadian photographs.

gorgeous grain, Mike, surely this is no digital shot, very nice work. There's nothing like fog and grain together, with a superb compo--even better than any of Nigella Lawson's recipes! :-)

Hello Mike

Beautiful use of the foggy weather.
I've taken some simialr shot myself, and I always end up converting it to get the proper attention to it.
This photo has a very nice balance between light and dark areas and that big ship is getting a lot of good attention.

Aww goosh, I love that!!!
urban, misty, gritty, grainy... I can smell the sea, feel the cold humidity and hear a ferry horn in the distance.
Deserves à 40*60cm print, no less.

excellent...way to make the most of one of these crappy days in HK...the graininess is awesome. It looks like it would feel like sandpaper if you touched it.

Real gritty shot, and when I see shots like this the first thing I think of is pollution, which seems to tie in well with the big cities in this part of the world.

Mike, I am glad this one is receiving such a warm reception here, as I said to you this one is a wall hanger, film grain is absolutely wonderfull, I guess I am going to make my comment short here as there is nothing to complain in this image, it is simply breathtaking.

you managed well to set a mood here Mike. The low key, the fog and the grain helps with that. Nice composition too with the ship in the foreground and the lower part of the highrises barely visible through the lower layer of the fog.
