Photographer’s Note

The Star Ferry Pier in Tsim Sha Tsui represents one of the great modern and organic architectural buildings in Hong Kong, structures that grew naturally in their cityscape environment.

The Central Star Ferry Clock Tower in Edinburgh Place is also the last mechanical antique clock in Hong Kong that can be described as “Hong Kong’s version of Big Ben”. The Star Ferry Clock and its Westminster Chimes were manufactured by the same UK company that provided the mechanical signature to the famous London landmark.

Salut Cousin,
T'es encore debout à cette heure tardive (ou plutôt devrais je dire "matinale")?
Belle image de nuit pour nous faire découvrir ce Star Ferry Pier qui brille de toutes ses lumières. L'endroit, comme le reste de la ville de HK, a pris un air résolument moderne depuis l'époque où j'y suis allée, mais ce qui m'épate c'est que les Ferries eux, ne semblent pas changer du tout! C'est bien d'avoir conservé cette horloge à la Big Ben et j'aime la façon dont tu l'as cadrée sur fond de ce gros triangle clair.

Hello my friend,
The first thing i noticed was the softness of the photo. Was it the fog, or did you create atmosphere on purpose to give it the right mood using a slower shutter speed? Whatever it is, i like it a lot. Detail is high on the pier and the soft lights in the background work perfectly for a good balnce with the foreground.
The last remains of blue light in the sky gives this picture a very pleasant feeling to look at...good work..!!!

Ca me fait trop envie cette image, c'est vraiment un endroit que j'adore, en plus pour le matos photo y'a le choix ! Une chouette vue nocturne d'un PdV particulierement interessant car il montre a la fois TST et Central.
Je vois que pour aujourd'hui tu nous laisses nous debrouiller avec Barbie ;-)

Hello André. A beautiful view of Hong Kong from a less often-seen angle that you found here. Good framing with the foreground elements used in a way that delivers architectural context and depth to the view. Technically very well made with spot-on exposure and great detail.

Salut André, une bien belle photo dont la composition est le point fort, les réglages sont appropriés et c'est bien de ne pas avoir mis trop de shutter speed, 1 sec comme ça c'est nickel, on a un peu de "motion" avec la tache rouge au milieu à droite.
La superposition des 3 plans est bien avec ce ponton, la ligne d'immeubles et la montagne au fond.
Très chouette

Cette photo est d'une netteté hallucinante et rend bein tous les détails. Le choix de l'heure, de l'exposition, du pov et bien sur du matériel, tout est parfait !!
